Our Journey: From Six Students to a Legacy of Excellence

The story of Westville Senior Primary began in March 1935 with just six pupils, one teacher, and a modest monthly fee of 12/6d to cover books and writing materials but also included —a Friday "penny sucker" treat for every learner. From these humble beginnings, our school became the foundation for the four Westville schools we know today.

In our early days as a "country school," it wasn't unusual to see children arriving for class on horses, donkeys, or even the front of a delivery bike. As the community grew, so did we. By 1957, our enrolment reached 790 learners, leading to a split that established our current primary school.

Following the opening of Westville Infants School in 1960, we became known as Westville Junior School, eventually evolving into Westville Senior Primary in the 1970s. Today, we continue to build on this rich heritage, providing excellent facilities and a quality holistic education for every child.
